Lemon has bleaching properties and it also has vitamin C which effectively helps to lighten the skin. You can use a cotton ball to apply fresh lemon juice around your eyes. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and rinse it off. Do this once daily for a few weeks.
Note: lemon may not be suitable for extremely sensitive skin around the eyes so if you feel any burning sensation then wash it off using water.
Cold tea bags
You can refrigerate used green tea bags for a few minutes. Now, place them over your eyes. Use this remedy on a regular basis to see considerable difference. Apart from green tea, you can also use chamomile tea bags which will wonderfully to lighten the area around your eyes.
Natural bleaching agents present in potato that can help lighten dark circles and get rid of puffiness around the eyes. To use them, grate them and extract juice from them. Soak a cotton ball in the juice and place it on your closed eyes. Leave it on for 15-20 min and wash it off. Do this regularly to see a difference in the appearance of your dark circles.
Cucumbers have skin-lightening and mild astringent properties and have a soothing and refreshing effect on the skin. They also help to de-puff the eye muscles really well. To use a cucumber, Cut a fresh cucumber into thick slices and chill it for about 30 minutes. Place the slices on the dark circles for about 10 minutes. You can do this twice a day for added benefits and faster relief.
Mint has refreshing properties which reduce the puffiness of the eyes and also help to remove dark circles in the process. Just crush a few leaves with water, forming a paste, and apply on the dark circles. Leave for 10 minutes and wash with cold water. Do this every night for a week to see miraculous results.
Milk has mild bleaching and skin lightening properties. Take a cotton ball and place it in a bowl of cold milk. Now apply the cotton ball making sure that it covers the entire eye with the affected area. Keep it for a while. Wash it regular water. Do this regularly to see the difference in your dark circles.
Almonds are loaded with vitamin E which helps in making the skin supple. This method is really easy. Before going to sleep, apply some almond oil over your dark circles and massage it gently into the skin. Leave the oil on overnight. Wash it off with cold water next morning. Repeat this every day until your dark circles are gone.
